it’s great to meet you!
I’m Deanna. Founder and Owner of CarbonSilk Digital Marketing & Consulting.
I began helping small business owners grow their businesses online in 2011. After working with hundreds of clients over the past 10 years, I realized a common theme among them all.
1. They lacked that big-picture strategy. They may have posted on social media, had a website, spent some time on their brand, yet, questioned how it all worked together. They wanted that full strategy to make sure that each component worked in their favor.
2. They were overwhelmed and lacked the time to juggle running a business and marketing it.
3. They understand the power of digital marketing, but needed help with consistency- some are willing to learn so they can do it themselves, while others were ready to hand it off, so they could focus on their real passion- their business.

A little more about what led me here…
I started my business from my kitchen table in 2012, a year after being awarded Top Mom in Business by StartUp Nation and Discover Card. I received a lot of media attention for that accomplishment and had entrepreneurs reach out to ask me how I grew my business. At that time, I didn’t quite have a business. What I had was a passion to help others launch and grow their businesses online.
As an early adopter of using social media for business growth, I understood the importance of having a strong presence. “Having a website is like having a billboard in the desert. Sure, you have it, but driving traffic there is what makes a difference”
I began teaching others what was needed to find success in a growing and noisy online world.
I have a degree in psychology , which I thought was wasted for several years. What I learned was it was that background and training that set me apart from most marketers. By understanding the psychology behind words, colors, and emotions. I used this skill to listen and connect with people.
Over the past ten years, I have continued to be at the forefront of digital marketing and invited to speak at marketing conferences nationwide.
I have worked with a variety of businesses, including small startups to national chains. Some of her clients include:
My passion for helping businesses reach their full potential continues. My success is only as good as her clients’.
Some Fun Stuff
I left my 9 to 5 to be an entrepreneur
I’ve walked in your shoes. I know what it’s like to take a chance on something more. I made the leap from employee to a small business owner when I was a single mom with young boys.
I Grew up in Ohio
I grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, a small town right between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. I moved to beautiful Montana until life led us to DeLand, Florida. Guess you can say that I’ve always been a small-town girl!
My biggest Fear was Public Speaking
It’s true! I was terrified of it. When I went to college, I was torn between Psychology and Business- I chose my degree because it didn’t require public speaking. Today, I speak at conferences across the US!
Advice from Sharon Osbourne
I had to the opportunity to ask Sharon Osbourne, “What is one piece of advice you would give to a small business owner?” Her answer- “Know your brand.”
Bad Advice I Received
When I first started out-, when social media wasn’t as common for small business owners- I had a well-established marketing company tell me that no one would take me seriously if I continued to market on social media.
Whew! Glad I didn’t listen to that!
I love what I do
I feel honored to get to do what I love. My clients aren’t just clients- I care about them and their businesses. When they experience success, I celebrate with them like it’s my own.
Let's chat over coffee, tea or something stronger.
